Our Beginning

Ensample Church was first formed from a prayer group consisting of several Indonesian citizens, both families and students who lived in Melbourne – Australia in early 2004.

This sparks a longing and desire to be able to have an impact and be a good example for Indonesians, as well as citizens of various nationalities who live in Melbourne as Australia’s multicultural hub.

Growing as a Church

As time went by, with the presence and guidance of God, the number of people who joined in prayer and fellowship increased. Through God’s revelation, Ensample Church finally was founded as a church organization in August 2005. Since it was formed, Ensample Church is pastored by Ps. Ivan Sitompul. Through various processes of growth, Ensample as a church underwent several organizational changes. The initial vision and mission to be an example and bring impact continued until Ensample opened various branch churches throughout Australia; with a pastoral center in the city of Melbourne, which is located at 224 Danks Street, Albert Park, Victoria 3206, Australia.

Our Church Today

In early 2015, Ensample joined the Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) synod and changed its name to GBI Ensample. Currently, GBI Ensample as a whole has a congregation of approximately 250 people, who live in both Australia and Indonesia. Every minister who serves at GBI Ensample believes that God’s church will never be lacking despite of limited resources available, and as long as the Church keeps doing the vision and mission that comes from the Word of God, and not personal interests. GBI Ensample believes God will always provide both material resources and servanthood ministers who long to use the talents that God has given, and as a result GBI Ensample is able to enter 17th year which is full of God's grace and guidance.
